HELPER HIGHLIGHT

Although Summer is in full swing we have been able to find at least a little bit of time to reflect on the first part of the year. We think of the wonderful Board Members we have been blessed to work with, the generous sponsors who have opened their hearts to our Bamboo Babies, and those who have given of their talents to help us get where we are today. We thought it would be great to highlight those who have dedicated their time and efforts as ambassadors to Pearl River Outreach. Therefore, today's "Helper Highlight" is focused on Debbie Welz.

Debbie is an adoptive mother of children from both China and Korea, and also sponors a Bamboo Baby. She has worked tirelessly to help us since our inception and has always been more than willing to lend a hand where we needed some help. Debbie has a great attitude and a huge heart in wanting to help the multitude of little ones remaining in China!

Some time back now, Debbie expressed her desire to share her talents as a seamstress with us and make beautiful pillowcases. She told us that she wanted to help PRO by donating all of the proceeds from the sale of the pillowcases, and jumped right in with both feet! Debbie has since donated countless hours of her personal time and made some beautiful pillowcases that we have sold at a variety of functions we have attended over the past few years. She even makes and sells them on her own time!! The pillowcases are mostly Chinese/Asian themed, but she utilizes other designs as well (Spiderman, balloons, etc.) and all are colorful, durable, comfortable, and reasonably priced. In fact, Julie and I have more than one in our house and the kids love them!

If you are interested in learning more about these handmade pillowcases, you may e-mail Debbie at bwelz@wowway.com for a list of current patterns and a price list.

Debbie, thank you so much for your love for children in China, your sponsorship of one of our Bamboo Babies, and for your willingness to sacrifice of yourself by donating your talents with us!!! We would not be where we are today without you!!!
